The Power of Mediocrity

I recently visited Yosemite and then Sequoia National Park where I saw the world's most massive living organism. I realized something. Everyone in America celebrates more. Do you know what I mean? The oldest tree, the biggest tree, the hugest tree, the most massive tree, etc. I mean they celebrate extremities. What about all those mediocre trees out there? Do they get a prize? No. Because they are average. Why don't we have a prize for the most average tree? The same thing applies for people. Few are recognized and the others are pushed aside. Because the truth of it is, the majority of America is mediocre, and we just don't have enough ribbons for everyone.
